C.E.S. P.A.L.S.
(Community, Educators, Schools, and Parents Assisting with Learning Skills)

The volunteer program of Carthage Elementary School is designed to promote positive school and community relationships and to enrich the existing school program.  It would be great to see moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and grandparents at school helping.  We want everyone to feel welcome in the school and help us help the students.

Volunteers do many different services for teachers and students.  The types of activities that might be included in the program are copying, typing, sorting, stapling, laminating, working with the Accelerated Reader program, putting up a  bulletin board, and helping with an art project.  There may also be a need for you to help a student with reading (either reading to them or listening to them read), writing, math, or other areas of concern for a student.  Other areas of involvement include being a guest speaker about what you do for a living, your travels, your hobbies, etc.  There are also times throughout the year that we need help with fundraisers, different P.E. events, book fairs, and school beautification.  We would like everyone to understand that you will not necessarily be working for your child's teacher.
