Guidance

The Guidance Program at Carthage Elementary School is designed to provide all grade levels with practical and fundamental knowledge in such areas as decision-making, personal hygiene, and drug abuse awareness.  Other subjects that Guidance covers are violence prevention, character education, and self esteem.

The Guidance Counselor meets with each teacher's class at least once a week and also provides individual counseling as the specific need arises.  Some of the techniques used in Guidance include role-playing, puppet presentations, workbooks and videos (when applicable), as well as the occasional guest speaker.
