CES Kindergarten Teachers

Kristi Byrne

My name is Kristi Byrne.  I graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2005 with a B.S. in Child and Family Studies.  I have always wanted to teach kindergarten.  There is nothing quite like helping young children discover the joy of learning.

My husband, Abram, and I live in the Dixon Springs area.  I have two stepchildren named Raiel and Lucas. My stepdaughter, Raiel, is in the 6th grade and my stepson, Lucas, is in the 3rd grade, both at Defeated Elementary School.

I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and going to the beach.

Martha Dawson

Hi!  My name is Martha Dawson.  I am a 1976 graduate of Memphis State University.    I began teaching at CES in 1984.  My family includes my husband, Randy, a pharmacist for FRED'S, and two daughters, Kendra and Kellye.  Kendra is a senior at MTSU in the pre-occupational therapy program.  She cheers for the Blue Raiders on the co-ed squad.  Kellye attends MTSU, also, where she is pursuing a career in pharmacy.  I enjoy riding my bicycle and making homemade sourdough bread.

Kristie Dixon

My name is Kristie Dixon.  I live in the Brush Creek area.  I have one son, Bailey and one step-son, Trevor.  I like to travel, go to UT games, watch movies and plays, and read.  I love teaching Kindergarten and believe it is the most important grade for children.  My goal for all my students is to have a productive and educational kindergarten learning experience that will enable him or her to reach their own maximum potential both intellectually and socially. I want my students to become life-long learners and develop an "I can attitude".

Kristy Taylor

My name is Kristy Taylor, and I love to teach Kindergarten! When I was a little girl, I loved to play school with my dolls, now I get to have my own classroom filled with special little people ready to learn new things!  Kindergarten is such a wonderful grade to teach.  The children are so excited about school.  We have so much fun in Kindergarten.  I graduated from MTSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  My husband, Troy, and I live in the Rome community with our two sons.  Anthony is a student at Smith County Middle School and Jake will be celebrating his second birthday soon.  I enjoy spending time with my family, taking pictures and going to the beach in the summer.
